Recently appointed special envoy, Patterson Oti, is in Fiji to discuss the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) reconciliation ceremony scheduled for next month.

The traditional reconciliation ceremony is for Vanuatu Prime Minister Edward Natapei to offer his apology to Fiji.

Mr. Natapei who was the MSG chairman, refused to attend July's MSG Summit in Fiji where he was to hand over the chairmanship position to Fiji's leader Commodore Frank Bainimarama.

This led to the cancellation of the Summit.

Fiji Times reports that Fiji's Foreign Affairs Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola has confirmed the delegation from Solomon Islands saying it will be led by MSG special envoy Patterson Oti.

He says Mr. Oti is in Fiji to meet and discuss the finer details of the MSG reconciliation ceremony.

A meeting between Mr. Oti and Fiji's Foreign Affairs Minister has been scheduled for tomorrow.

The traditional reconciliation ceremony will be hosted by the Solomon government in Honiara on December 15.
