The Parliamentary Opposition Group has kicked off its High School Civic Program.

In a statement today, the Parliamentary Opposition Group says it was encouraging to see students and staff welcoming the initiative to educate our next generation of leaders on the roles and responsibilities of the Opposition Office and that of the Government system.

The Opposition has visited Vura School last week Friday and St Nicholas High School today.

“It is encouraging to see great interest from students and staff on how the political system of governance works in the country and basically the importance of the roles and responsibilities of the Opposition Office.”

The statement said the Opposition Group was also pleased to receive great feedback from the schools and the great respect and hospitality shown by the schools visited.

“It is also encouraging to hear from students that they are learning a lot from this program,” it says.

The Opposition’s civic program continues throughout this week.
