It has been confirmed by the National Parliament that the no confidence motion against Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo will be tabled in Parliament on Friday.

The motion comes just a week after his election to the highest political post.

Clerk to Parliament Mrs Taeasi Sanga confirms the date for tabling of the motion, submitted by the Leader of Opposition Dr Derek Sikua.

Mrs Sanga says the Speaker of Parliament Sir Allan Kemakeza has accepted the no confidence motion.

The motion was submitted and accepted by the Office of the Speaker of Parliament last Thursday.

The current Prime Minister, Mr Gordon Darcy Lilo, 46, who is a strong supporter of the Australian-led Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands, won with a comfortable majority, gaining the support of 29 of the 49 MPs eligible to vote.
