Prime Minister Derrick Sikua has said that the New Zealand AID program is one of the best targeted and implemented programs in Solomon Islands.

Speaking to the media during a joint conference with New Zealand Prime Minister, John Key yesterday, Dr. Sikua said that his government is satisfied that the N-Z AID program is well targeted and felt in the rural areas.

He said that these areas include education, police, women, youth and other sectors in the country.

Dr. Sikua said his government is happy that there is always mutual understanding with the New Zealand Government in the implementation of these projects.

Meanwhile, the New Zealand Prime Minister, Mr. Key said Solomon Islands receive a total of 37 million dollars in assistance each year from the New Zealand Government.

He said that 14 million dollars of the total help goes to education.

Mr. Key said Solomon Islands is the single largest recipient of NZAID in the region.
