The Solomon Islands Government and the Asian Development Bank, ADB, is now funding a new monthly shipping service to the furthest of the Islands in Western Solomons.

The shipping schedule will be for Fauro, Shortland and Mono in the Western Province next month.

A two year contract for the service has been awarded to Pacific Ace Shipping.

According to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development, M.V. Pacific Ace will operate from Honiara through Noro and Gizo to ports on Fauro, Shortlands and Mono, and back through Gizo and Noro to Honiara.

The ship will also stop at Lambu Lambu on Vella La Vella on the way out and on the way back.

The first voyage is due to depart Honiara on November 12.
