The Western Province has a new Premier.
He is Provincial Assembly member for South Rendova, George Solingi Lilo.SIBC Radio Happy Lagoon reports that Mr. Lilo won the Premiership post in the second round of voting, beating member for Munda, David Earnest Kera by 15 votes to 10.
In the first round of voting Mr Lilo got 12 votes, Mr Kera, seven votes and Aquila Talasasa six.
Mr. Talasasa was eliminated after the first round.
Election of the premier was held in the Western Provincial capital, Gizo this morning.
