The Solomon Islands Port Authority has a new General Manager.

William Barile was yesterday announced the new General Manager with immediate effect.

Mr. Barile replaces longest serving General Manager of the Authority, Ngenomea Kabui.

Until his appointment, Mr Barile who has served SIPA for the last 25 years was the Director of Engineering of the Ports Authority.

He graduated with a bachelors degree in civil engineering from the University of Technology in Papua New Guinea and Masters in Business Administration from USP in Suva, Fiji.

He later attended Melbourne university and James Cook university, both in Australia.

Mr Barile, 54, comes from West Guadalcanal.
