A new political party, the Reform and Democratic Party of Solomon Islands, launched its manifesto in Honiara yesterday.

In his keynote address, the party's interim president, Danny Philip proclaimed that this is the day of your life.

He says the vision of the party is about rediscovering, organizing and restructuring the fundamental building blocks of the Solomon Islands society.

Mr Philip assured the country that while questions may arise on the numbers of political parties, the issue of importance is what people want to collectively achieve for this country.

The interim President also stated that the party promotes the notion that human problems need to be understood, skillfully handed, prescribed and respected before the people of Solomon Islands will accept development, offer and share their resources with others and ultimately the nation state.

The former Archbishop of the church of Melanesia Rev. Ellison Pogo took the honour in dedicating the party and its manifesto.
