Solomons Islands is set to revamp its governments internet and communication facilites, with a $3.2m project run by Australian company CBO communications.

The company is building what's called a Metro Area Network, known as a MAN, which will be used by people across the public sector.

It's the largest communications project ever undertaken by the Solomon's government, which will link over 80 sites.

And while its being run by an Australian company, many Solomon Islander workers will also skilled up to manage and the network once its in place.

Mark McGregor, Managing Director of CBO communications and Sammie Wa'ahero from the ICT Support Unit in the Ministry of Finance & Treasury in Solomon Islands joined Bruce Hill in the studio.
