A new Papua New Guinea-owned Heritage Park Hotel at the Point Cruz area is under construction.

The Lamana Construction Development, which employs approximately 106 locals and half a dozen expatriates, are working on the site.

Project manager, Bill Matthews, said so far, work has been good because everything is going according to the schedule of the Heritage Park Hotel plans.

"Hopefully the hotel should be completed by next Christmas 2008," he told Solomon Times.

Project Administrator, Mr. David Torrance, said all materials used to erect the Heritage Park Hotel are locally purchased except for steels, which are brought in from overseas.

The new hotel will accommodate four 'normal standard' buildings, whilst a section of the hotel will be VIP.
