Save the Children Solomon Islands today funded a 'Sweat Before Success' (S.B.S) Information Centre for youths of Burns Creek Community and youths.

Save the Children Solomon Islands is one of the NGO working hand-in-hand with the Solomon Islands' Police Force 'Crime Prevention Committee' (C.P.C).

Community leaders and chiefs of Burns Creek have spoken highly of the Centre and commend Save the Children for their assistance and support in establishing the Centre.

Newly appointed chief of Burns Creek, Peter Usi, said the Centre is a success which will bring new positive changes to their youths and community as a whole.

"If the government takes on the same kind of initiative as Save the Children does, then I can wholeheartedly say that Burns Creek will be the best place to live," Chief Usi said.

He said that escalating problems in their community is "due to ignorance by the government, which causes low self-esteem among our youths."

Chief Usi said Burns Creek is one of the breeding ground for criminal activities in Honiara but with the establishment of the new Centre, leaders believe it will help build the confidence and self-esteem of the youths.
