The official opening of the National Trade Show in Auki will be officially opened today with a float parade beginning at the Aligegeo Sports Field.

Chairman of the main organizing committee, Michael Shepherd Maena, told SIBC that around 8am today, the Float parade will make its way to Rarasu field in Auki, the venue of this year's Trade Show, led by the Kilusakwalo brass band.

He says the official key note opening address will be delivered by Foreign Affairs and Trade Relations Minister, Patteson Oti. The official opening ceremony will be followed by cultural entertainment.

Maena says invited guests will be treated to a luncheon hosted by the Foreign Minister. He says that participants in the week long show will not start displaying their products until Monday the second of July.

Meanwhile, the Solomon Times understands that flights to Auki are now fully booked and many in Honiara have had to find alternative transportation to Auki. On Friday many privately chartered boats made its way to Auki, to join the celebrations.
