Narakobi to Deliver Key Note Address to Congress

Prominent Papua New Guinean, and currently the High Commissioner of PNG to New Zealand, H E Bernard Narakobi, will deliver a key note address to the Constitutional Congress.

Bernard Narakobi was invited to give the key note address because of his extensive experience in PNG politics and his huge involvement in the development of the organic laws of PNG during his time as Chairman of the Law Reform Commission in PNG. Mr Narakobi will focus his address on "Development of Local Jurisprudence".

Other guest speakers include Solomon Islands Academic at USP, Joe Foukona and Dr. Andrew Ladley, Director of Institute of Policy Studies at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand.

Dr. Andrew Ladley is also the Supervisor of the External Audit of the Solomon Islands Draft Federal Constitution 2004.

Reginald Teutao of the Constitution Reform Unit said that the participation of these individuals will add depth to the discussions during the induction workshop.

Mr Teutao stated that the funding for the workshop is solely met by the Government and added that "participants to the workshop will start arriving in Honiara from the provinces over the weekend".
