Munda Opens Temporary Terminal

Solomon Islands national carrier, Solomon Airlines has opened a temporary terminal in Munda as construction work continues on upgrading the Munda runway to international standards.

The temporary terminal is located at the United Church headquarters in Kokeqolo.

The Airline advises all passengers and the travelling public that all flights will be disembarked and boarded from the temporary terminal.

Ticket sales will continue to take place at the Airlines sales office at Lambete in Munda.

Solomon Airlines General Manager Commercial and Operations, Gus Kraus, says flights will operate as normal through the temporary terminal.

He thanked the United Church for their support in allowing the Airline to open the temporary terminal at the church headquarters.

“The developments taking place in Munda will not only benefit the travelling public but the country as a whole,” he said.

Kraus praised the government and the contractors for the continued progress in upgrading the Munda runway into what will become Solomon Islands alternative international airport.

Solomon Airlines will use the temporary terminal until construction work is completed at the eastern end of the runway and the construction team opens the fully refurbished and expanded Munda runway and the team then moves to Gizo to rehabilitate Nusatupe Airport.
