The much anticipated motion of no confidence on Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo has been withdrawn by the Opposition group.

Speaker of Parliament, Sir Allan Kemakeza, in reconvening Parliament this morning stated that the motion was withdrawn by the Opposition late yesterday afternoon.

It is understood that the mover of the motion, Dr Derek Sikua, conceded that they do not have the numbers to put the motion onto the floor of Parliament.

Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo acknowledged the maturity of the Opposition group in withdrawing the motion, stating that it would prevent any further unnecessary delays in implementing government policies.
