Minister Lilo will be accompanied by his Permanent Secretary, Rence Sore and another top Ministerial official when they leave tomorrow.

The Forum runs from February 20 to 22.

The main objective of the Forum is to facilitate ministerial level discussions on important and emerging policy issues in the field of environment and to address relevant decisions of previous sessions.

The Ministerial consultations will focus on two themes, namely "Globalization and the Environment - mobilizing finance to meet climate change challenges" and "International Environmental Governance and the United Nations Reform".

The Policy discussions of the Forum will take place against a background of heightened political awareness of the impact of environmental, economic and social ramifications of climate change.

The Tenth Special Session followed on the from the thirteenth session of the conference of parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Bali, Indonesia in December last year.
