MET Issues Tropical Disturbance Watch

The Solomon Islands meteorological (MET) service has issued a tropical disturbance watch this morning.

The tropical disturbance watch is current for Rennell Bellona, Makira, Temotu and the Southern parts of Guadalcanal and Malaita.

MET advices that a tropical depression is currently located 155 nautical miles south east of Vanuatu and is moving south.

MET advices that people should take precautionary measures as bad weather associated with the tropical depression poses threats to lives and properties.

The potential for the system to develop into a tropical cyclone is currently rated as low.
