The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Cooperation (SIBC) this morning officially received twelve chairs from the Solomon Islands Manufacturing Association at a small ceremony within the SIBC compound.

The President of the Solomon Islands Manufacturing Association, Mr. David Irofulaga in his address said that the presentation of the furnitures is in appreciation of the work of SIBC to the people of Solomon Islands.

Mr. Irofulaga stated that they want to build a strong partnership with SIBC and other businesses in the country. He further stated that there are times when he visited the recording studios of SIBC and noticed that are not enough chairs in the studios.

Mr. Irofulaga further adds that the manufacturing association includes 20 members, all from different manufacturing companies within the Solomon Islands.

He revealed that the furnitures were made possible by Tropical Furniture, SA and Sons and Hocking's Construction. He continued by saying, "I call on my other members to help support our own local radio station."

Mr. Irofulaga stated that there is need for assistance with finance and other equipments of every Solomon Islands business, further adding that the government should also recognize the association "so we can keep helping other business in donating furnitures."

"A strong partnership and recognition to assist local businesses should always be built and encouraged by and with the government for the betterment of the nation," he concluded.
