A man from the East Guadalcanal was arrested and charged with four counts of murder which happened in 2002 during the ethnic crisis.

Speaking during this week's Press Conference, Acting Police Commissioner Peter Marshall mentioned that the arrest was made yesterday by the Solomon Islands Police Force and their RAMSI counterparts.

The man from Guadalcanal was arrested for the murder of a five year old boy, two twelve year old boys and a mother and also left 15 other people seriously injured. The people were attacked by the man while traveling to a clinic.

The man was arrested after an extensive enquiry and he will now be appearing in court.

Acting Commissioner Marshall also revealed that a similar arrest was made in Choiseul last month and adds the same line of an arrest was made in Choiseul province last month.

Both men have finally been arrested six years after the incidents.

"There are alot of the ethnic tension cases still to be brought before the court. The Solomon Islands police force together with RAMSI will work extra hard to make sure these people are apprehended and be brought before the court," concludes Commissioner Marshall.
