Malaita Football Association is putting together a strong side to represent their province in the national Under 23 Telekom Cup competition.

MFA president and team coach, Derrick Taka, who was in Honiara at the weekend says that the selection is fair because it represents the entire province.

"We've done justice to all the players who deserve to be in the train-on squad and besides, we are also eyeing other Malaita players in Honiara to bolster our chances at the games," says Taka.

He however says that their selected Honiara-based players are subjected to their availability and he will need to confirm that sooner before he returns to Malaita.

His top pick is star midfielder, Richard Anisua, who is currently with the Bilikiki beach soccer team traveling to Brazil for the FIFA Beach soccer finals.

Taka says he is confident that his players will help restore pride in Malaita football by winning the competition.

Meanwhile, most of the provincial football associations have confirmed their participation in the upcoming national competition.
