The Solomon Islands Member of Parliament for North Malaita, has given more than SBD$50,000 to its University students from its constituency for various activities throughout the Christmas and New Year period.

Parliamentarian, Mrs. Vika Lusiba'ea gave the money during a get together of the students studying overseas as well as those in Honiara to take part in football and netball games and a barbecue.

The MP said during the presentation that she hoped that the money will help the students in the various activities that they will be involved in North Malaita during their holiday.

The students have organised a football and netball competition and a household/village data survey that covers various sectors in the constituency.

To'abaita students studying at the Fiji School of Medicine and others medical students from the University of Papua New Guinea will also undertake a two week medical tour of clinics in North Malaita including Takwa clinic in the Lau-Mbaelelea Constituency.
