The Tongan General Elections held last week saw a low voter turnout out of the 68,000 registered voters.

According to the Matangi Tonga, the island kingdom's 2008 General Elections saw only 48% of voters turning up to vote, which is about 32,000 0f the 68, 000 registered voters.
Majority of the voters were from Vava'u.

Tonga is divided into three administrations which are Ha'apai, Tongatapu and Vava'u.

Voting was held last week on Thursday.
