He also acknowledged the Commissioner of Inland Revenue and Comptroller of Customs who had by all means been striving to ensure that the business community in Solomon Islands are paying taxes and customs duty that they owe.

He said that these taxes collected have improved education, medical services and infrastructure projects throughout the country.

Meanwhile, a strict warning has been issued by the Minister of Finance for all tax evaders to come forward, sort out their dues otherwise they will be face legal action.

He said that if a person wants to correct his or her tax affairs they can submit a voluntary disclosure to inland revenue while the tax arising from the disclosure will need to be paid and there will be no prosecution.
