"One of the key policy objectives of the CNURA government is to work closely with international and regional organizations in enhancing the welfare of our people".

He said the MOU signing and official opening of the office is an example of the closeness and trust that the country's government has established and will continue to enhance with the regional organizations in the Pacific.

Hon. Haomae stated that the in-country office will be overseeing the implementation of the Solomon Islands and Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) Joint Country Strategy (JCS), 2009-2012.

He explained that the JCS was formulated to guide the provision of SPC technical assistance and other support services to Solomon Islands over the next four years.
