The Saint Barnabas Cathedral Church will launch its Pidgin Bible next month.

In an interview with Solomon Times, Georgina Sogote who is in the committee with the Solomon Islands Translation Advisory Group (SITAG) said that the 6th of July launch is the first of its kind

Mrs. Sogote said the Pidgin Bible is translated from Old Testament to New Testament.

Solomon Times was informed that the committee responsible is a combination of representatives from all churches in Solomon Islands.

"This demonstrates the commitment churches in the country have to work together and also shows that Solomon Islands is truly a Christian country," Mrs. Sogote said.

She said that unlike other pidgin translated Bibles, "this is different because it is under the works of the best committee in the SITAG".

Mrs. Sogote said that the launch will coincide with the 30th independence celebrations.

"Different church groups will put up activities as part of the launch and counseling will be available for any interested people who need help," she said.

An emotional Mrs. Sogote said that the launch is a blessing that has "really touched me and makes me happy".
