The dream historical trip to Japan for the Kossa FC ended when the Waitakere FC team from New Zealand claimed the champions of the O-League early May this year.

Solomon Times probed on reasons behind the dream trip for the local soccer side that is now no longer possible.

Solomon Islands Football Federation, SIFF, media officer Francis Pituvaka informed Solomon Times that had Kossa FC won their game against the Waitakere FC early May, they could have made the trip.

"Kossa FC lost out on the dream trip to Japan when they bowed out in their game against Waitakere FC who will take the trip instead," Mr. Pituvaka said.

The New Zealand side as champions will represent Oceania in the upcoming Asia Pacific club championship in Japan in December.

The Waitakere scored 5-0 to Kossa FC.
