KOSSA displayed a sublime performance in the first 25 minutes of the game last night defeating a wounded traveling BA side by 2-0.

BA without their six regulars were out played in the first half of the game and never played like the team of 2007.

Papua New Guinean import, Reginald Devani, put KOSSA up in the 10th minute of the game deflecting a Naka shot. The deflection wrong footed the BA keeper who had to watch the ball shake the net helplessly.

Five minutes latter, KOSSA scored again this time Reginald turned provider and Naka had just a slight touch to the ball to beat the advancing BA keeper, who for the second time in the match had to watch the ball slowly roll into the net.

The two goals seem all over but BA came back fighting dominating the rest of the first half, almost scoring on two occasions. Bukalidi almost scored from a header from a cross but was denied by the cross bar. The crowd was impatient and urged the KOSSA players to play on. It was nerve wrecking moments for KOSSA supporters as BA kept coming back searching for an all important away goal.

KOSSA defenders did well to keep the sheet clean all night with Takayama the standout player, coming to KOSSA's rescue several times to put away balls that BA strikers could have scored.

KOSSA's coach Jacob Moli was a happy man after the game and he reiterated his point that KOSSA had just to win the home game. "I am happy with the win and the three points."

When asked why BA dominated for long spell, Moli went hard on his midfielders.
"My midfielders need to keep the ball and protect it. We have been losing the ball unnecessarily and against team like BA we must be careful. Although our defenders seem to win ball easily we kept losing it."

The BA coach was humble in defeat admitting that the better organised team won. He was not pleased with his boys. "I don't know what happen to the boys. Whatever I told them before the game they never did."

KOSSA now has the best chance to win the pool. They top the pool with four points after two games. Tafea second with 4 points after three games and BA third with three points with only a game remaining.
