The Papua New Guinea Based Korean Ambassador was in the country yesterday to present his credentials to the Governor General, Sir Nathaniel Waena at the government house.

In his address, Ambassador Mr. Won-Jung Han stated that the friendship between Korea and the Solomon Islands is steadily developing.

Not only is the friendship in trade and economic development but as well as in the field of fisheries.

"Korea is proud to be a dialogue partner of the Pacific Islands Forum and the United Nations, where Solomon Islands play an important role," he highlighted.

He stated that it is his sincere wish that the two countries work together for world peace and common prosperity for mankind.

He stated that the Korean people have been impressed with the recent Solomon Islands economic development adding that "I am confident that Solomon Islands will continue to accomplish sustainable economic growth."

"There would be a promotion of traditional ties between our two countries which would form basis for a lasting relationship," Ambassador Han said.

Sir Nathaniel Waena in his address stated that the ambassador must continue to uphold the cordial relationship enjoyed by the two countries.

"I am optimistic that the good will assistance through bilateral relations will continue in years ahead, most particularly in the areas of trade, fisheries, education, cultural and other development cooperation's," says Sir. Waena.

"Rest assured that we would continue to support you, to ensure success in the discharge of your duties during the term of your service," concludes Sir. Nathaniel Waena.
