Guadalcanal and Western provinces currently have the highest number of Japanese volunteers working in various community high schools.

On Guadalcanal, the volunteers include two teachers at Visale Community High school, one for Nguvia and one for Betivatu.

Western province is host to four volunteers working at Ringi, Gizo, Munda and Biulah schools while Honiara has two.

Makira-Ulawa and Central Provinces host one each.

But with new intakes coming in, Western Province will have five volunteers and one for Choiseul.

Honiara will be hosting the biggest number of volunteers when short term volunteers arrive in March and April this year.

It is expected the number of Japanese volunteers will increase to about 25 by the end of the year.
