Yesterday in a 'Presentation of Credentials' visit to the Governor General's residence, Japanese Ambassador, Hajime Nishiyama expresses gratitude from the Japanese Emperor for the close relationship between the Solomon Islands and Japan.

The Non- Resident Ambassador to Solomon Islands, Mr. Nishiyama, stated that together with the Solomon Islands Government they will endeavor to co-operate on global issues such as that of climate change.

Together, the Japanese Ambassador stated that both countries will continuously work towards peace, stability and the development of Solomon Islands.

The Ambassador also conveyed message from the Japanese Emperor who ensured continuous support for the Solomon Islands.

In attendance of the 'Presentation of Credentials' ceremony, was the Acting Foreign Affairs Minister, Hon. Seth Gukuna with the Under Secretary of the Foreign Affairs, Mr. Senda Fifi'i.

The Governor General, Sir. Nathaniel Waena then wished Ambassador Nishiyama a rewarding and a successful tour of duties to the Solomon Islands.
