The Isabel Provincial Team for the upcoming Our Telekom Solomon Cup has begun training this week as it looks ahead to the tournament.

According to the Isabel Frigates management, a good number of players turned up for the first training session today. Some of the province-based players have travelled to Honiara as of last week and have confirmed their registration with the team.

According to the Isabel Football Association (IFA) President, Stanley Siapu, the first selection will be done next week. "Players who were named but do not turn up by the end of this week will be replaced," Siapu said. "In this regard, I appeal to all Isabel Frigates players to travel to Honiara if you are still in the provinces and to attend all training sessions."

The team is currently training at the King George the Sixth sports ground north of the athletics tracks.

The Our Telekom Solomon Cup is scheduled for the second half of November. A number of other teams including Malaita and Rennell and Bellonna have announced their training squads ahead of the tournament.
