Lack of equipment at the dental department within the National Referral Hospital is becoming a worry.

A spokesperson for the department said number of patients attended to at the dental clinic is increasing but "we lack the equipment to meet the increase."

It was revealed that the existing three beds - one for adults, one for children and one for those seeking placement of false tooth set - is not enough to cater for the high increase of patients.

Records show that in a day, more than sixty people visit the dental department with tooth problems.

The department is very aware of the need to be well equipped and calls on responsible authorities to take the matter seriously.
