The High Court has reserved judgment on a strike out application by West Honiara MP Namson Tran against his election petition.

This follows a two-day hearing which concluded yesterday before Justice David Goldsborough.

Mr Tran applied for a strike out on the election petition his predecessor Isaac Inoke lodged against him claiming there was no reasonable cause of action.

Tran also included in his application that the claims in the petition were not properly pleaded.

Justice David Goldsborough reserved judgment on the application to a further date.

The election petition against Tran is challenging the legality of more than 3000 voters living outside of West Honiara who cast their votes during the recent National General election. It also includes allegations of bribery and undue influence.
