A two-day workshop is currently taking place at the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation (SIBC) in Honiara.

The objective of the workshop is to provide good health services for young people.

"Issues covered in this workshop are on sex reproductive health, focusing more on the increasing cases of Sexually Transmitted Infections in the country," the SPC Project Advisor for Adolescent, Health and Development officer, Ms. Rufina Latu said.

The twenty-four participants include stakeholders representing various health sectors, NGOs, SICHE and Ministry of Health.

"The workshop is aimed at identifying, strengthening and expanding services to promote health in the country," Ms. Latu said.

Solomon Times was informed that stakeholders will also look at ways to work together in reaching out to young people and give them strengthened access to health services.

"There has been a lot of programs done but all these have to be realistic to services available to provide to reach out to young people," Mrs. Latu informed Solomon Times.

She added that the workshop also encourages young people to develop their skills to generate income to meet their daily needs.
