Governor General's Final Visit to Buckingham Palace

The Governor General Sir Nathaniel Waena is in London where he is expected to call on the Queen.

SIBC News understands that this is the final trip to Buckingham Palace for Sir Nathaniel as Governor General unless he is re-elected.

His five year term lapses next July when Parliament is expected to vote for a new Governor General.

Speaker of Parliament Sir Peter Kenilorea is currently acting governor general.

Sir Nathaniel is expected back in Solomon Islands next week.
