The Pacific Islands Forum Task force set up to review the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands, RAMSI, has begun its second phase of the review starting yesterday.

The task force team leader, Kaliopate Tavola, told SIBC that he has issued fresh invitation for submission from the public, individuals and organisations who may want to raise their views on the activities of RAMSI since it arrived.

The review will expand its work by visiting six of the provinces in Solomon Islands and the Honiara City Council to gauge people's thought on the work of RAMSI since the intervention in July, 2003.

Mr Tavola said that it is the people and government of Solomon Islands who will have to decide on the future of RAMSI in this country.

He adds that members of the public wishing to make submissions should contact the Forum Political Issues Advisor, Lawrie Cremin who is currently in the country.

Leaders of the Pacific Islands Forum had agreed to the review, following a submission from the Solomon Islands Government at the Leaders Summit in October last year.
