Member of Parliament for Temotu Pele in Temotu Province, Martin Maga arrived in Honiara from Australia.

The former Health and Medical Services Minister was whiskered off by a waiting medical ambulance on arrival at Honiara International airport yesterday afternoon.

Mr Maga, who fell sick during an official overseas trip, had spent the last three months at the Saint Vincent Hospital in Sydney, Australia.

An official from Saint Vincent Hospital says Mr Maga had made a remarkable recovery after a major open heart surgery.

He says having regained his consciousness and able to talk and walk with some assistance was a great improvement.

Two medical personnel from Saint Vincent hospital accompanied Mr Maga and his wife to Honiara.

Deputy Prime Minister, Fred Fono who was on his way home from an overseas visit also accompanied Mr Maga home yesterday.

A number of Government Ministers were among relatives and friends who met Mr Maga on arrival.
