Fono was never offered the DPM post: Lilo

The Acting Prime Minister Mr Gordon Darcy Lilo stated in a Press conference that the post of the Deputy Prime Minister was never offered to the Opposition Leader.

Mr Lilo bluntly stated that the Government does not need the services of Mr Fono. "It is an embarrassment when no such offer was made" Lilo said "He should stop all those nonsense and concentrate on his role as Opposition leader"

Mr Lilo went on to say that the government has a huge majority and at the moment they are focusing on the implementation of their policies.

It was also revealed that the Deputy Prime Minister Toswell Kaua is currently ill and unable to perform his duty. "But he is recovering, that is why I am acting in his absence" Mr Lilo said.

It is not yet clear as to the nature of Mr Kaua's illness. Reports reaching the News desk stated that he fell ill during his recent trip to Washington D.C.
