Electoral Mission Termed a Success

Officials from the Solomon Islands Electoral Commission say their recent trip to Fiji gave them a chance to interact and share ideas with their counterparts on the electronic voter registration.

A team from the Solomon Islands were in Fiji last week to monitor the EVR process.

This was in line with the Electoral Commission's strategic plan to conduct a new voter's registration in the Solomon Island.

Solomon Islands Chief Electoral Officer, Polycarp Haununu says the trip was an attempt to get the basic understanding of level of preparations and the necessary resources required for implementation of such a programme.

The Solomon Islands has committed itself to undertake a nation-wide electronic voter registration in 2013.
