Guadalcanal provincial members will elect a new premier for the province today.
SIBC news reports that two candidates have been nominated to contest the elections by the close of nomination last Friday.The candidates are Stephen Panga, Provincial member for Ghaobata ward and David Rosalio, member for Savulei ward.
SIBC news reports that Mr. Panga was nominated by Bradley Tovosia provincial member for Moli ward and Ephrem Limanikua, provincial member for Wanderer Bay.
The election of a new premier today follows a successful motion of no confidence against the Salani-led government last Thursday.
