The Don Bosco Technical Institute School in East Honiara bid farewell to former Rector, Fr. Luciano Capelli sdb.

Silesians, staff, students, parents, guardians and overseas guests, including his mother Mrs. Linda Capelli along with other overseas volunteers, gathered to acknowledge Fr. Capelli's contributions towards the institution.

The celebration coincided with Fr. Capelli's 61st birthday, who was presented with gifts from the different departments and trades in the school.

Speaking at the occasion, Father Ambrose Pereira said that the former Rector, on his return from holidays, will set about getting funds to construct the first wing of the school.

Fr. Ambrose praised Fr. Capelli for being able to network and bring together a variety of people.

"I am sure as he looks back today, he gives thanks to the many that have helped him put metal and stone, wood and glass together," Fr. Ambrose said of the former Rector.

He assured Fr. Capelli that what he has set will be used for the growth and development of teachers.

"Parents will assist and support children, and students will use their time and talent to develop their know-how in communities in Solomon Islands," Fr. Ambrose said.
