Dignitaries Take Part in Independence Celebrations

Many dignitaries from within the region will take part in today's 30th Independence celebrations at the Lawson Tama stadium.

In a show of goodwill and support, many top government officials have arrived in the capital to join the celebrations.

Many of the dignitaries include the Governor General of Papua New Guinea, Sir Paulius Matane, the Prime Ministers of Samoa, Vanuatu, Tonga and senior ministers from other Pacific Island countries including Australia and New Zealand.

The Speaker of Taiwan's Yuan will represent his country in today's celebrations.
