Honiara, Solomon Islands will experience a surge in population today following the arrival of the delegation from four of our neighbouring Pacific countries.

The first 290 delegates of the estimated 3000 overseas participants to next week's Festival of Pacific Arts arrive via chartered flights.

The first arrivals are from the countries of Nauru, Kiribati, Niue and New Zealand.

Chair of Festival's Media Committee, David Tuhanuku confirmed that more participatns will continue to arrive during this week with Hawaii being the last to arrive in Honiara on Friday.

Meanwhile, the FOPA Media Chair says Solomon Islands provincial participants should arrive by ship in Honiara during this week.
