The leader of Opposition, Manasseh Sogavare has described the current Parliament meeting as very expensive with little output.

Although the Hon. Manasseh Sogavare appreciated certain Government actions discussed during the Parliamentary meeting, he revealed that the 35 day Parliamentary meeting has cost the National Government about $2 million dollars in various allowances and expenses for the Members.

Parliamentary Members receive $200 each per day as sitting allowances, when they attend the Parliament sessions. This means that the Government spends $9,600 each day if all forty eight members of Parliament are present.

Mr Sogavare went on to say that any Parliament meeting must be properly planned to maximize time and gain maximum output.

The Parliament meeting will officially end today.
