The Community Sector Programme this week held a conference for provinicial leaders and facilitators at the King Solomon Hotel to look at its annual work plan.

The conference focused on some of the strategic plans that are to be incorporated into the annual work plan which runs from July this year to July next year.

During the conference, participants discussed and decided on certain initiatives, based on their collective experience, which would benefit communities from their respective provinces.

Some of the strategies include a "village action plan," a plan that ensures that villagers take ownership of economic and social developments within their community.

Provincial leaders and facilitators from the Central province, Temotu province, Isabel province and Choiseul province were all present at the conference.

They are the second group of participants from the provinces who attended the conference.

The third session of the conference will be held in Auki, Malaita province for Malaita participants.
