The Solomon Islands Honiara City Council has passed more than 22 million dollars budget for the 2012 financial year.

While speaking to the the Solomon Islands National Radio, the City Council's Administration and Finance chairman, Bongi Darlingi said this is a much improved version of the 2011 budget.

Mr Darlingi said, among priority areas are infrastructure that will improve Honiara City in preparation for next year's Pacific Arts Festival.

He explained that two public toilets will be built, as well as funding for minor road improvements and proper drainage projects.

Mr Darlingi said, the City Council will also undergo an administration improvement phase, city development, long term training among others.
