Church groups to visit tsunami victims

Church groups will take turns to visit victims of the disaster stricken Western and Choiseul provinces.

A religious singing group is currently accompanying the Prime Minister's delegation visiting Gizo, Simbo, Ranongga, Vella La Vella, Shortlands, Choiseul, Rendova and New Georgia.

The South Seas Evangelical Church had sent a two-member team to Choiseul and plan to later send a 16-member delegation.

National Disaster Management Office Media Officer, Julian Maka'a says SSEC will be working closely with the United Church in the outreach.

"The messages of hope, encouragement and comfort needs to reach our good people in West and Choiseul" Maka'a said. "In times like these that's what people need"
