It has been revealed that the 2009 Premier's conference will be hosted by the Central Province.

The announcement came after other Provinces and Honiara City Council made a bid for the next host.

Central Province will be the third Province to hold the Premier's annual conference.

The first Premier's annual meeting was held at Lake Tegano in the Rennell/ Bellona Province last year which was officiated by the then Prime Minister and current opposition leader, Hon. Manasseh Sogavare.

This years' premier's conference was officially opened by the current Prime Minister, Dr. Derek Sikua.

Meanwhile, the Central Provincial Government has welcomed the announcement to host the important conference in 2009.

The Central Provincial Premier, Patrick Vasuni said that he was very pleased with the decision to hold the conference at Tulagi in 2009 and acknowledged the bid by other Provinces including the Honiara City Council.

Tulagi is the former capital of the Solomon Islands.
