An elderly man accused of raping his four month old step daughter, appeared at the Honiara Central Magistrate's court for a short time yesterday.

He was then remanded after his appearance before the magistrate.

The man was arrested at Lungga, East of Honiara earlier in the month. He was reported by his partner.

Solomon Times understand that the case is adjourned for another 14 days, following a request made by the prosecution lawyer, Kylie Anderson from the Public Solicitors.

The accused will turn up in court on the 11th of November.

The adjournment was a request due to the on-going investigations by the police and to await delivery of their final report.
