The month-long attachment is an A-F-P offer to have two local officers for a month at a time over in Canberra , working with their counterparts.While in Canberra, the local officers will do patrols, community policing and other aspects of policing, along side their Australian A-F-P counterparts there.Solomon Islands Acting Police Commissioner Peter Marshall said the new initiative starts September this year.A local female officer who leaves the country September said this arrangement is a huge boost for the Solomon Islands policing."We will be exposed to advanced services and this will help us better our services for our people here in the Solomons," she said.
